Finding the perfect home gym machines for your specific needs is tough. There are so many products out there that it can be extremely difficult to nail down exactly what you need. Luckily, I am here to help. I’ve come up with three different scenarios and picked exactly what would be the perfect home gym machine.
The first scenario is the most common: you don’t have much money and you don’t have much space for a big machine. This was my situation years ago when I lived in my first apartment. It was so small but I couldn’t afford to join a gym. My solution was to get the Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar – Extreme Edition. It is inexpensive, tiny, but quite effective. It hooks into the top of your door frame and allows you to do pull ups and chin ups with several different grips to work multiple muscle groups. It can also be used on the ground as a great tricep dip exercise or to hold your feet in place while doing situps or crunches.
The second scenario is that you have saved up a few hundred dollars and have a bit of space reserved for gym equipment. There are a ton of options in this category. Many pieces of equipment don’t require too much space, but it is a matter of which ones can give you the most bang for your buck. For me, the winner is the Bowflex PR1000 Home Gym, or if you have a few extra saved up, the Bowflex PR3000. Both are incredibly effective for giving you a home workout but the PR3000 does deliver a few dozen more exercise options. Their ‘Power Rod’ technology offers unmatchable resistance training without the use of weights.
The third scenario, though not common, is that you have a lot of room and a lot of funds available to start a gym in your home. Hands down, the best product I’ve found is the BodyCraft X4 Home Gym. It is a four sided design offering more than 150 different workouts for every muscle group. Since there are multiple sides, it is fantastic to use with friends or family, especially if you miss that social aspect of belonging to a gym.
All three of these products are incredible when it comes to home fitness. While the bigger gym machines are great, they are not required. As long as you have the focus and motivation to be consistent with your workout, you can get in shape with anything.
When researching your fitness home gym purchases, it is also important to look into the warranties for your perspective product. Some of the more inexpensive machines may have a shorter warranty and may break easily. Putting out a bit more money for a product that has an extended money can save you more money in the long run.
